Darvin Moon has signed a new sponsorship deal that only increases his market value. The 47 year-old was propelled into the poker limelight after qualifying for the 2009 WSOP Main Event via a $140 land based satellite before then
finishing second to Joe Cada for a total pay-out of $5.18 million.
During that time Moon became equally well-known for his adamant stance against signing any sponsorship deals with online poker companies or wearing their logos. Despite offers of over half a million dollars for wearing a company’s patch, Moon stuck to his guns and commented:
“I’m self employed and I don’t want a boss. I don’t want anybody telling me you need to do this or you need to do that. If I would sign with them guys we’d be in a lawsuit within a month because they’d want me to do something and I wouldn’t do it.”
